Nesting Diaries
3/30/15 This pair has for many years been a very good producer of young. The nest structure has been dead as long as I recall. But, the entire tree hs been lost over the winter. Sad.
06/27/14 One adult perched on edge of nest.
07/15/14 Very hot, 98 F. One adult in nest in shading posture.
07/23/14 One adult in nest with two chicks, nearly fully grown.
07/29/14 One young wing flexng, one watching, both fully grown.
06/12/14 One adult in the nest, active, possibly feeding young.
03/24/14 One adult perched by nest.
04/08/14 One adult perched below nest.
04/28/14 No observed activity.
05/12/14 One visible low in nest, possible incubating.
05/18/14 One low in nest.
05/24/14 One low i nest.
05/31/14 One low in nest, another bringig fish to nest.
07/17/13 No activity in nest or around area. One fledged possibly 07/12/13
07/08/13 No adults seen, but a possible young in nest. Difficult to view with the heat waves and height of nest.
07/02/13 One adult and one young in nest.
06/26/13 Did not observe any activity around this site, but it was very windy.
06/10/13 Two adults in the nest, one standing, the other laying low.
06/03/13 One adult low in nest.
5/24/13 One low in nest, incubating posture.
5/20/13 One incubating posture.
05/02/13 First for season on 04/03/13 and no activity.
04/11/13 One adult at nest, and 15 minutes later another flew into the nest
044/18/13 One on the nest site.
04/25/13 Two birds in the nest.
05/02/13 One low in the nest, possibly incubating, one flying in area.
08/08/12 One young fledged, one on nest. Adult arrived with fish, stasyed for short time, left with same fish. Two birds flying above nest.
08/03/12 Two almost ready to leave feeding themselves in the nest.
07/28/12 One adult perched on the nest, and two young moving about in the nest.
07/14/12 Observed one adult perched on edge of nest, another lower and on a side branch. Did not see any young heads this morning.
6/28 One adult feeding unseen chicks. 6/29 one adult at nest for awhile, then left when the other arrived and started feeding chicks. After a short while I could see two chicks begging for food, abouit two weeks old, with white down..
Two adults on the nest, apparently both feeding young. How many young is unknown as I cannot see into the nest.
4/19 Possible incubating posture, not sure but one deep in the nest. Other bringing materials to site. 5/08 Incubating posture. 5/12 Incubating posture. 5/29 Incubating posture.
