Nest Location Description: I don't know when this osprey nest platform was installed, it's been there for at least 6 years that I know of. Ospreys use the platform and add to the nest annually with fresh sticks and other nesting material.

Nesting Diaries

04/06/2015 by Sandra
The osprey pair first arrived back at this nest around March 10 -14, 2015. At this point, April 6 - they are still re-building and working on their nest.

03/31/2014 by Sandra
The nest from last year is occupied again and both ospreys are very busy nest building and calling. It's great to have them back!

04/24/2013 by Sandra
The pair continue to enhance and strengthen the nest, but the female is sitting on eggs at this point. Don't know when she laid them, but she's clearly sitting!

17 March 2013 - the pair is very busy re-building and enhanching the nest from last year - lots of activity!

08/16/2012 by Sandra
This pair appears to have fledged one chick/young bird. I don't have any way of knowing if there were more eggs, or more chicks, but at this time, there is 1 young bird who, while fledged, remains nearby.

07/10/2012 by Sandra
The birds have continued to be attentive to this nest, although I don't see them bringing food back to it (as if they're caring for chicks). They appear to use it heavily for roosting and loafing. The pair remains together though, and they're almost always nearby.

11 April 2012 - I will be unable to ever actually look into this nest, but the adult birds are very attentive and are staying very close to the nest. At least one of the adults is almost always sitting on the nest - speculating that they have laid at least 1 egg.

24 Mar 2012 - Lots of nest building activity!

03/20/2012 by Sandra
Breeding activity (18 and 19 Mar 2012), sticking close to nest, roosting, resting.

03/18/2012 by Sandra
Adults returned - lots of interest and activity at nest (both birds) - vocalizing, nest building.

11 March 2012 - no activity yet
