This nest is very hard to see into but this morning it appeared that the female was feeding hatch lings.
Although the female has been observed on the nest for about a week, yesterday 03/15/19 was the first time that the male was seen on the nest with the female. He came in quickly copulated with her and left again. He doesn't seem to want to hang around long and after observing for about 60 min he had not returned. These quickies may be why I hadn't been able to catch him at the nest previously.
I can only confirm seeing one chick in this nest. Due to the location it's possible there were two but I could never see two at one time. No birds have been seen on the nest for several days now.
Can not see into the nest but parents behavior would indicate that chicks have hatched.
Yesterday I observed the male bringing in nesting material. This is a large nest already since a lot of material was left from last year. After bringing the stick, the male mounted the female.
Observed both birds on the nest for the first time today.
