While mama bird is still blocking most of mt view, I was able to see at least 1 chick in the nest. Hoping to find a different spot to observe the nest.
Observed the female osprey standing on the side of the nest. She is in my direct line of sight blocking any chance of seeing if there's a chick or two.
For nearly a month, I have only seen the 1 osprey (presumably the female) at this platform. Today I finally saw a second bird and may have actually witnessed them copulating.
I had witnessed a bird at this platform on the morning of 3/17, but did not see it that afternoon or the next day. Again, a bird at the platform on 3/28 but gone again. On 4/3, I started to see a bird each morning and afternoon, but no mate yet.
Finally !!! I was beginning to wonder if this nest was a failure. The past week I've noticed both adult birds at the nest with the female standing on the side of the nest, but no sign of chicks. Today I was able to see one chick. There may be more, but tough to see from where I can observe this nest.
