One large chick on the nest this morning and one parent. Picture uploaded. Looks like junior is ready for takeoff, and is quite content to be the only chick in the nest. I love their little herb garden. ;-)
At least two young chicks in the nest this morning. Mom and Dad both present. Mom left the nest briefly and brought back a carefully selected stick to add to the collection. Dad looked on very intensely. Pix uploaded.
The night before the storm, I observed one Osprey on this nest, appears to be an adult. Will check tomorrow to see how the nest does in this storm which is expected to bring up to 40mph east winds and heavy rain. Picture uploaded.
Rain was tapering off this afternoon and both parents and one nestling were observed. Was not able to stay long enough to wait for the other to emerge, but I did capture some photos of one of the nestlings practicing for his first solo flight. Both parents appeared to be sleeping soundly in the process...
This morning shortly after sunrise, two nestlings and both adults were enjoying a family breakfast together. Pictures uploaded. Both nestlings look healthy and were seen stretching their wings.
