This year there has been no basketball activity due to the pandemic and this pair has a successful season.
Female in nest with make on nest pole. Egg turning activity
Noted pair today sitting in near tree as someone playing basketball under the nest. Hour later female sitting on nest alone
Male sitting atop lamp pole near nest eating fish. No mate noted
this nest was plagued by basketball players even though the birds tried to continue the nest and appeared to have egg laying. the nest was finally abandoned for unknown reason and a couple weeks later a new nest was built across the lot in a second story tall chimney. this was attacked by multiple Mocking Birds and the next week was abandoned. No activity now.
after storm i observed the female in the nest standing up and the male consistently bring new large sticks to the nest. He would land on her back and appear to copulate brief second about three times he would do this.
from storm. nest lost half of sticks as they on ground. both birds out of nest. female eating fish. male gathering large sticks but doesn't use the fallen sticks. . flies over to female lands on her back. copulation.
this pair does not appear to have eggs yet as both have left the nest while a large group of men played basketball. A few days ago the female was in the nest and male was eating a fish next to the nest on a pole.
