Nesting Diaries

Both Osprey have been busy rebuilding this nest. It was destroyed last year from a bad fall storm. Today the pair was busy flying back and forth bringing twigs and nesting material.

That was on March 16th.

Saw the Osprey in this area around March 9, went over to where all the nest are and we counted 7 Osprey each sitting near or on their prospective nest.

I will post pictures shortly.

Nest was rebuilt. It looks fantastic. Both Osprey were in the nest. One flew off and around the other is incubating for sure. So I am guessing the eggs were laid last week.

During the fall a majority of this nest was blown down. Have faith they will rebuild they have been utilizing this nest for many years.

I should say during a bad storm. I think it occurred during Hurricane Sandy.

When I took last photo it was 7/08/2012 there were 3 nestlings in nest. I believe they have all fledged so I really think that 3 fledged.

Last week the Chicks were doing really good. Photo taken on 7/08/2012. Checked on them 7/14 and 7/15 they have fledged!!! Parent not on nest could not see any juveniles either. Will go back on 7/16 to verify as I forgot my binoculars today.
