Nesting Diaries

We believe that our male did not return last year. Another male eventually occupied the nest but the female never seemed to fully accept the male bird. No eggs were laid this year although both birds remained together until late August early September . This is type second year without chicks.

In 2014 we had no young. Both birds arrived in early March and mated but produced no young. This year it appears that only one bird has returned

Last year the male arrived in the first week of March with the female arriving about 10 days later. Two birds arrived with one living to maturity. We are not sure how the one bird died. This is the 8th years for this pair. We had to replace the platform 4 years ago after a storm destroyed the platform in August just after the birds began to fly.
