Nest Location Description:
Has been an active nest for years. Light pole is located about 300 yards west of Sunset Creek at Kecoughtan Road. Pair observed starting to build 2-26-18. Lights have been on at field 24/7 for several weeks. New owner plans to develop property and light pole will be removed. They claim US Fish and Wildlife have been contacted and they have until April 15th to remove pole.

Photos of this nest
The light pole with nest was removed this morning, 16 days before the magic day of April 15th. 3 birds observed soaring above nest area. Disgusting!!!
3:50 pm Observed the pair sitting on the light pole, one in nest the other adjacent. Then the mate outside nest mounted the one in the nest and then flew away from nest.
Lights finally turned off.
Observed what I think was the female returning to the nest with nesting material. The mate was sitting on the light pole just outside the nest. The female landed in the nest and the mate mounted her and then flew away.
Pair back after windy day yesterday. Observed one with fish. Lights still on 24/7 even though developer said electrician was coming yesterday
No sign of pair. Very windy day, gusts high. Pole swaying. Ball field lights still on 24/7
Pair collecting nesting materials
First noticed that the lights at the ball field were on 24/7
Property sold to developer.
