Nesting Diaries
3/13 Confirmed! Saw the heads of 2 chicks. saw one stretch it matted wing. Only one adult at nest
6/7 movement in nest. Cannot see if eggs hatched but something is moving about
5/31 Male went fishing. Female is clearing nest. Seems to be making more room
5/10, 17,24 Female on eggs. male comes and goes
4/26 three day rain storm coming
56 defgrees
Female flat back in nest. Can barely see her. Male gone but returned with food twice in the half hour i watched.
The nest is on a utility pole so it will be hard to confirm eggs without a drone. She is acting like she is sitting on eggs.
4/3 one bird stands at nest and leaves occasionally
4/9 one bird standing at nest. I dont see any sitting on eggs.945-1015am cool 46 degrees. I almost left.
Yippee 2 birds!
At 1030 second bird arrives with sticks. Left then flew off and back. Landing on female that has been staying at nest. One bird sideways with wing in air. Looks like I may have witnessed breeding/copulation. Then he flew off. Came back about 5 minutes
Only same one bird. Saw another bird that looked like osprey but could not be identified. It flew by nest. Captured a fish in broad cov Then flew by nest but did not stop. Perhaps there is ajoher nest near wickets island.
The one bird flew out of nest and had not returned in 30 minutes
3/24 1030-11am. Last night was stormy. Stopped about 8am. No birds at nest at this time.

3/20 its 40 degrees at 9am-one osprey! A darker brown osprey with white top of head cheek and chest. Looks like male. No female no eggs
3/1 ,7-730 am no birds yet
3/9 1130 am no nest or bird yet. One Other black bird stopped at platform. No osprey forced them away. So i assume they have not arrived yet.
2/29/2020 no adult arrivals yet. There has been a couple here every year for the past 3ish years
