checked nest for tristate this evening as there was a second chick deep in nest not seen for week, fear it was tethered by something, mirror showed just one chick remains at nest

there was aggression of the older chick on the youngest that appeared to be a true runt, it passed away a few weeks ago at about 3 weeks of age, , then on 6-21 the middle chick was no longer visible, we dont know if it fell from the nest or met same fate as runt, today just the oldest chick in nest when male brought fish to female, female ate and chick was not begging or appearing to be hungry so its getting plenty of food now. this may be a young osprey pair, may be their first successful nesting so hopefully the male will pick it up next season should this pair return to the platform. but for now they have a growing 5 week chick that looks healthy.

both at the nests on 3-20-20 but took a day or so to choose the second platform.this pair was most likely the pair that had a spindly snag nest near this new platform, snag nest fell after a storm in 2019 so this is likely their first active year at Ellis Pt. Names are Ellie and Percy They should be incubating soon.
