Nesting Diaries
This has always been a successful nest. So glad to see them back.
No change in this information.
No osprey in the area and no rebuilding of the nest at this point.
No osprey returned to this site this year..
Still no nest there but yesterday a male was sitting in the tree. May have been just resting as it seems late to be building a nest. I'll keep monitoring this site.
There's only an empty snag. No osprey has been near this dead tree for the last ten days. I feel the site has been abandoned, at least for this year. I will continue to monitor the site.
One lone osprey has been sitting in this tree off and on for the last two weeks. The nest was completely destroyed over the winter and the one osprey seems reluctant to begin rebuilding. Perhaps when the second of the pair arrives, a new nest will appear.
One of the osprey has returned. However, the nest was destroyed during the winter storms and this osprey doesn't seem ready to rebuild. So far, nothing occurring.
Photos from this nest look like they belong to #558
Here's the photo of the nestling....he has grown so quickly and appears to be the only one in the nest. I hope his mom returns in short order because he was creeing for lunch when I took this shot!
We saw one baby today....guess his name will be David to keep up the theme. There could be a second in there....we'll keep watching and keep you posted.
Probably the most popular nest on the parkway, we always meet others watching these two as they raise their chicks. The chicks have hatched but we can't tell, as yet, how many are in the nest. We'll keep you posted.
The pair continues to be attentive...one of them is always sitting in the nest. We don't think any eggs have hatched yet but we will continue to monitor carefully. The new babies must be arriving soon.
They are definitely sitting on eggs. Ozzie continues to bring sticks to the nest but Harriet seems more interested in hunkering down to incubate the eggs. Every so often, he will arrive, sit on the eggs, and let her go off to feed. They are very aware of any activity near the nest and seem to be always alert.
Harriet is sitting on the nest. We haven't seen Ozzie anywhere but she is definitely incubating some eggs.
It's April first and mom is not fooling around. She is actively protecting the nest while dad is gathering fish for her. Mom then takes the fish and carries it to a nearby tree to eat. No chicks visible yet. We'll keep watching and let you know when they begin to appear above the edge of the nest.
