I haven't seen this nest up close and I am reporting from memory from a few months ago. The best I could get to it, was parking in the lot of the abandoned Kent Narrows Center. I first noticed it in 2013 and it is there in 2014, but I don't know if it'
Light stand overlooking sports field at Freedom High School. Not a new nest but currently unsure how many years it has been here but large well established nest.
This nest is located on Marine Corps Base Quantico, on an Osprey nest platform outside the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab. This nest has been active for several years. I first observed Osprey nesting in this location in 2008.
This nest is located on Marine Corps Base Quantico, on an Osprey nest platform near Jordan Hall. In 2012, two adults were first observed on March 11, 2012. They successfully raised two Osprey young.
Saw this nest a year ago, saw one bird briefly last month but was unable to identify it. Today, 12/8/12 , midday, saw two fully grown Ospreys sitting on either side of the nest.
This nest is on a platform on top of a power pole right on busy US 301 at the entrance to the Home Depot parking lot.
This nest is torn down each year. The Osprey pair come and rebuild every year. The light pole is the kind the use to light up a sports field. Has 4 light going across, the pair have been flying around the last 2 weeks started to put sticks, they are procrastinators. I have watched them the last 5 years. I hope they rebuild will update, also if the build their nest elsewhere nearby.
