This is apparently an old nest just located about 1/4 mile below Lake Davis dam, on east side of canyon. It is in top of 80-foot Jeffery Pine.

Snag and nest on ridge visible from the Frenchman Lake Road below the second bridge, very obvious against the skyline. Nest appears very small at top of snag.

Nest is in Frenchman Canyon approx. one mile below the dam on the east side of the road. It is on a side branch about 15 feet below the top of a 90 foot dead Jeffery Pine, and on the same ridge line as Nest #1069 which blew down this past winter.

Nest is located between I-80 EB and the Truckee River, accessible from West 4th Street west of Reno, NV. This appears to be a first year nest, on a power pole just above a large transformer.

A Jeffery Pine snag, about 40 feet in height, 18 inches diameter at nest level. This new site is below nest #1406 by about 200 yards and on the west side of the main road to Frenchman Lake whee there is a good turnout after a keft hand curve going up.

This nest is about 1/3 mile below Lake Davis, CA dam, a few hundred yards down canyon from Nest 1390, in a dead top Jeffery Pine, 80 feet above ground.

This new nest is approximately 100 yards south of Nest 1067 which was active this season, then abandoned. The new site was being used by the 1067 pair as a perch/feeding tree before 1067 was abandoned, so I suspect that for some unknown reason they left the one nest and started this new one. (See Diary for more.)

First spotted this nest Saturday, June 9, 2012 in dead Jeffery Pine about 90 feet above ground below the dam and to the west of the road just below a cattle guard.

The nest is located approximately 2.5 miles below (south) of the Frenchman Lake dam. on the east side of the road, visible against the skyline while looking south from the 6.00 mile marker. It is a natural nest at the toop of the dead Jeffery Pine tree, and could be this year's nest by the size of it.
